We believe

Part 5

We can believe the words of Paul here because God has made our future certain.

The resurrection

The resurrection lies ahead for all who believe in Christ. It is certain that after death, we will rise again with new, perfect bodies and enjoy life with Him forever. Paul has no doubt that God did what He promised. If you stop believing this, then you cannot believe that Christ rose again, and so your entire faith will crumble. Paul recognises resurrection from the dead - and Christ's more so than others - as the core part of what our faith is built on.

Born under Adam

Our nature is to be born under Adam. We are born into a life of sin and failure. Living under Adam means death, but being reborn under Christ gives us life everlasting. Christ's resurrection triggered the possibility of resurrection for all of us. We will have to wait for it, but it has already begun.

God's universal rule

Our upcoming resurrection is the apex of history. It has all been pointing to that. Then the end will come. The end of Christ's work, and the beginning of an eternal existence with Him. God's rule will be seen and loved by everyone and everything in the New Universe.

Worth every sacrifice

In his ministry, Paul made so many sacrifices and suffered so much. Yet he knew that it was all worth it for his resurrection. Grasping the wonder and certainty of resurrection sets you free to lay down everything and go anywhere for Christ.
